Na Gaeil 1-13
Fossa 0-05

Na Gaeil got their first win in the league, when they comprehensibly defeated Fossa, at home, in wet weather conditions in round five. Na Gaeil's first score came with just over a minute gone when Colm Lyons sent a long ball into full forward Dan O'Connor, who, after winning possession held the ball up well laying it off to Mike Griffin, who in turn knocked it over the bar. Again Dan O'Connor became supplier this time for Eamonn O'Neill for Na Gaeil second point. Fossa nearly replied immediately had it not be for Tim Cotter and who, not for the only time in the first half, was called into action and pulled off a fine save to deny Fossa a sure goal. The turning point in the game came mid-way through the first half, with both sides tied on two points apiece when a Fossa corner forward effort rebounded back off the post. Na Gaeil pushed on from there adding two more points from frees and a goal from Dermot Flaherty after being set up, once again, by Dan O'Connor. At the break Na Gaeil were up 1 - 04 to 0 - 02 points. In the second half Na Gaeil up the tempo scoring nine points, all but one from play. Eoin Doody who although carrying a slight knock from the first half had an exceptional game, setting up his brother Declan who scored from distance early in the second half to extend Na Gaeils lead. Dan O'Connor's first point of the game came from a well worked move out of defence before Dan pointed from thirty yards, other scorers in the second half were two from Paul Daly, Eamonn O'Neill, and Dermot Flaherty one of which came from over near the sideline. Score finished Na Gaeil 1 - 13 Fossa 0 - 05 points.
