In round six of the county league Na Gaeil faced Listry away and having won the toss opted to play with the breeze. Na Gaeil almost got off to an ideal start when Dan O'Connor, having won the throw in, sent a long ball in to Diarmuid Herlihy who, with the keeper beaten, narrowly shot wide. Listry were first on the board after five minutes with Na Gaeil responding immediately through Eamonn O'Neill who, having started the move, was on hand to receive the return pass from Ian McCarthy and knock it over the bar. Both sides traded points with Na Gaeil’s coming from Dermot Flaherty and Seamie O'Neill. It wasn't till mid way through the first half when Na Gaeil scored three unanswered points courtesy of two long range efforts from Dan O'Connor, man of the match, and Paul Daly, an excellent corner forward who has converted from corner back, from an acute angle that gave the visitors a slight advantage which they were not to relinquish in what was a closely contested game. At half time Na Gaeil 0 - 09, Listry 0 - 06. With the wind having completely died down over the break Listry started the stronger in the second half. Their mid fielder, who had been switched into full forward late in the first half, was proving difficult to deal with set up one and scored one to leave just the minimum between the sides. Na Gaeil’s first score in the second half came through Diarmuid Herlihy who was at hand to collect and point the rebound after Dermot Flaherty's effort on goal was blocked down. From the resulting kick out Declan Doody, who had a great game at centre field, won possession cleanly in mid field, supplied the ball quickly to Dermot Flaherty who sent it over the bar. Again both sides traded scores with Na Gaeil’s coming trough Eamonn O'Neill another from Dermot Flaherty and three from Paul Daly. The game finished Na Gaeil 0 -16, Listry 0 - 13.
